Ford 2000 tractor hydraulic filter location

In this video I am servicing the rear axle and lift. Location and part number for hydraulic filter. Standard License. I tried doing a search but came up empty handed.


The service manual I have says there is a suction filter at the bottom of the rear axle center housing. It also says that a portion of the oil returning passes through a renewable paper element type filter.

Your tractor has a dipstick by the transmission shift levers to check the transmission fluid level, but it also has a fluid level check port on the right hand side of the trans. If you want to change the filter , and clean the screen, you will have to pull the hydraulic lift cover. Hydraulic lift is slow and jerky especially in cold climate. I would like to clean hydraulic filter in the diff case.


Do I have to remove the hydrauli. If so, I would suspect that the transmission is due or past due for an oil and filter change , as opposed to a mechanical failure.
